My wife Lisa and I are humbled to  serve Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior at First Baptist Church, here in Ranger, Texas. We are a small congregation but we are a God sized church.

I came in view of a call On December 4, 2016 and was hired by the church to become their pastor.

I am truly blessed by God with my wife Lisa who supports me in  my efforts as a pastor. Our view is that we serve God and this church together. FBC Ranger is a church of loving and friendly people who together serve the Lord Jesus Christ. First Baptist Church Ranger has been serving the Lord Jesus Christ for 138 years, the church first met in August 1881.

Our goal as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ is to build His Kingdom , one person at a time.

We all know that our world is in troubled times like we have never seen before. The Bible tells us that someday Jesus will return for His church but until that time we will hear of wars and rumors of wars, natural disaters across the earth and brother against brother. I do not know when Christ will return but I do know this that I want my life to be right before He returns. Is your life right with Jesus?

Maybe you say like so many today, "I don't believe in God."

Let me ask you a question: If you die and find out that there is no God, what have you lost, You lost nothing but on the other hand if you die and then find out there is a God what have you lost, you have lost everything.  Everyone will spend eternity somewhere, 2 choices Heaven or Hell, your choice.

Come on Sunday mornings for Bible Study Hour at 9:45 am and then attend Worship Service at 10:50am, or join us on Facebook Live at 11:30 am. We want the opportinity to introduce you to our Savior Jesus Christ. We can show you that God loves you and wants to save you. Come to church as you are and learn about Jesus Christ. The most important decision you will ever make in your life will be to either accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior or reject Him. Everyone will spend  eternity in Heaven or Hell, the choice is yours to make, so which choice will you choose?

If you are new to the area or it has been a long time since you went to church, let me encourage you to stop by and see how God is moving at FBC Ranger.

Matthew 28:18-20 18 Then Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember,  I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Worship Leader

Jim Cockburn

Jim is our music minister here at FBC Ranger, and he also serves this church as a deacon, a role he fills so well. When Jim is not at church you can find him working his full time job at Ranger College, and he also performs with a band in Abilene. They perform at christmas, memorial day, and veterns day concerts. Despite that Jim is so busy he finds time to be a family man, loving his wife and taking very good care of her. Jim loves the Lord so he also loves people, he is a caring, giving,  and loving man.

The Bible tells us in 1 Timothy 3:8-10
Deacons, likewise, should be worthy of respect, not hypocritical, not drinking a lot of wine, not greedy for money, 9 holding the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. 10 And they must also be tested first; if they prove blameless, then they can serve as deacons.

Jim is truly a man called by God.
